Thursday, 26 March 2015

Pest control is more than just termite control. The battle continues with several different species of pests and insects and all of them demand specific attention to kill fleas, cockroaches, termites, etc. Silverfish is a common insect that breeds and attacks most households but go unnoticed for weeks or even months before they are detected. Here are a few characteristics of silverfish that will help you understand their behaviour better.

  • They can survive in almost any climatic condition but they prefer to breed in damp places with high humidity or moisture. So look out for leaking pipes, damp walls, basements, attics, kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms, etc.
  • If you find holes on bed sheets there are two possibilities: silverfish or bed bugs in Melbourne.
  • However, look out for other clothes, paper, etc. Silverfish feed on paper, clothes, other insects, etc.
  • You may use strong spices such as whole cloves, bay leaves to keep silverfish at bay. However, if the infestation is severe, you will require professional assistance to kill silverfish.
